So we did the lobby and conference room floors last week. We decided on a stained concrete with a two-part epoxy clear coat. The stain we used was from Quikrete and was fairly easy to apply. The hardest part was scraping all the drywall mud and other construction debris from the concrete and the multiple scrubbing/rinsing we had to to do for preparation for the stain.
The stain went on with a garden sprayer. It comes out of the bottle as a green color which made us a little nervous as we wanted it to be tan. It’s also a little hard to tell how much you have laid down. Another issue is that this stuff is a reactive type stain that actually uses an acid (Hydrochloric) to etch the concrete.
